Selling well, 2PM's Taecyeon is targeted to star in a new drama about zombies

Taecyeon's agency 51K confirmed that the production team had offered Taecyeon to play the role of a judo athlete and Taecyeon is currently considering the offer.


Taecyeon is growing in demand as an actor with the upcoming zombie drama series likely to feature himself as the male lead. According to media reports on May 2, the upcoming zombie drama series based on the popular webtoon "Taereung Zombie Center" (literally translated) is eyeing the 2PM member as the male lead.

This new zombie drama tells the story of national athletes who have been training for the Olympics to face the zombie apocalypse. Taecyeon's agency 51K confirmed that the production team had offered Taecyeon to play the role of a judo athlete and Taecyeon is currently considering the offer.

Meanwhile in addition to his career as an idol, in 2010 Taecyeon made his acting debut in the KBS drama series "Cinderella's Sister" with Moon Geun Young and Chun Jung Myung. Taecyeon then starred in the high school drama "Dream High" which received high domestic ratings as well as international popularity.

In September 2011, FujiTV announced that Taecyeon was a regular star in their Sunday drama "Boku to Star no 99 Nichi" along with Japanese actor Nishijima Hidetoshi and South Korean actress Kim Tae Hee in his first regular role in a Japanese drama. In 2016, the 33-year-old idol starred in the horror comedy "Hey Ghost, Let's Fight", "Save Me", "The Game: Towards Zero" and the film "Marriage Blue".

In 2021, Taecyeon starred in the tvN drama "Vincenzo" as the main antagonist which is his first main antagonist role since his debut in acting. In the same year, Taecyeon also starred in the historical drama "Secret Royal Inspector & Joy" which premiered on tvN and iQiyi in November 2021. (wk/aiss)
