Red Velvet's Joy and Chu Young Woo will be starring in a drama titled 'Unexpected Country Diary.'
Launching Soompi, Thursday (26/5/2022), 'Unexpected Country Diary' is based on the web novel of the same name by Park Ha Min. This is a romance about a man from Seoul who meets a policewoman while living in the countryside.
Along with the love story of two characters with a fresh natural background, this drama will depict the ups and downs of the people of Heedong Village who are pure and human.
‘Unexpected Country Diary’ will be helmed by director Kwon Seok Jang who helped create dramas such as ‘Bossam: Steal the Fate,’ ‘Avengers Social Club,’ and Miss Korea.’
Joy will take on the role of Ahn Ja Young, a policewoman who appears whenever someone needs help. No one in Heedong Village hated him and whenever there was a fight in the neighborhood, it was resolved after he intervened. He is social and friendly, which is the complete opposite of Han Ji Yool, a veterinarian from Seoul.
Chu Young Woo will take on the role of Han Ji Yool, a man with a cold personality who doesn't care about other people. He finds life in Heedong Village not easy and his peaceful everyday life turns upside down with his nosy and inquisitive new neighbor.
However, after he meets Ahn Ja Young, his forgotten emotions blossom into life and he begins to experience changes little by little.
