Ma Dong Seok and Son Seok Gu's latest film, titled "The Outlaws 2", also known as "The Roundup", seems to be increasingly successful at the box office. On May 22, just one day after surpassing 2 million moviegoers at an impressive pace, “The Outlaws 2” officially surpassed 3 million moviegoers at 11:50 p.m. KST.

The action film was originally released on May 18, which means it took less than five days to reach the milestone. “The Outlaws 2” is now the fastest film since award-winning film “Parasite” to surpass 3 million moviegoers at the Korean box office, surpassing the previous six-day record held by the coincidental 2019 hit “Ashfall,” also starring Ma Dong. Seok.

In addition, "The Outlaws 2" attracted a total of 1,037,033 moviegoers on May 21 alone, making it the first film since "Parasite" to garner more than 1 million moviegoers in one day. This is also Ma Dong Seok's third film to achieve this feat, following his hit films “Train to Busan” and “Along With the Gods: The Last 49 Days.”

To celebrate the film's achievement reaching the 1 million mark, its stars including Ma Dong Seok, Choi Gwi Hwa, Heo Dong Won, Ha Jun, Park Ji Hwan, Kim Chan Hyung and Cha Woo Jin posed for a celebratory photo to commemorate the event. Meanwhile, “The Outlaws 2,” which is the sequel to Ma Dong Seok and Yoon Kye Sang's 2017 hit film “The Outlaws,” also previously set a new record for the fastest film to surpass 2 million moviegoers since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile the film begins 4 years after a sweeping operation in Garibong-dong, Detective Ma Seok Do with Captain Jeon Il Man and his team heads to Vietnam to extradite the suspect, but soon after his arrival, he discovers an additional murder case and learns about Kang Hae Sang, a ruthless killer who has been committing crimes against tourists for several years for money.

In Vietnam, the two fail to catch Kang Hae Sang, who killed the only son of a Korean business tycoon. They return to Korea to pursue the killer after smuggling him into the country to blackmail a business tycoon. Despite Ma Seok Do's pursuit in Korea, Kang Hae Sang escapes the police's grasp, continuing his kidnapping and murder of Koreans.
