The issue of school bullying involving Kim Garam LE SSERAFIM apparently still continues. On Wednesday (20/4), a netizen (A) who exposed this problem claimed to have been sued by Kim Garam.
A complained about it through a post on his personal social media account. He revealed, "I've been sued. My mom just called to tell me."
Earlier on April 5, HYBE's subsidiary, Source Music, launched Kim Garam's profile as the second member of LE SSERAFIM. He is receiving positive attention for his outstanding visuals. Unfortunately, this positive response soon turned around after Kim Garam was suspected of being a school bully.
This situation becomes more serious after photos of his past are revealed. One of the photos shared by netizens shows a blackboard filled with obscene images. In front of him, Kim Garam looks engrossed in a shy pose with his friends.
This allegation has been denied by HYBE, who stated, "The accusation of maliciously slandering Kim Garam was maliciously edited to overemphasize the events that took place during his early middle school friendship."
The agency even stated that Kim Garam was a victim, not a bully. "Contrary to that claim, it has been confirmed through a third-party statement that Kim Garam was actually a victim of school bullying such as cyberbullying and malicious rumors when he entered school," the agency explained.
In addition, HYBE also warns to take legal action against malicious rumors. This step was taken to protect Kim Garam while preventing the spread of false rumors.
"We believe that the accusations made against him were carried out with malicious intent to hurt the debut artist, and we would like to inform you that we will take legal action against the spread of distorted accusations and false information related to this case," the agency stated.
Despite being denied, Kim Garam's classmate continues to expose his past behavior by including photo evidence. In the midst of fierce public criticism, HYBE and Source Music were criticized for being seen as deliberately protecting him.
On the other hand, LE SSERAFIM is the first girl group launched under the collaboration between HYBE and Source Music. Their name is an anagram of "I'M FEARLESS" which implies self-confidence and a strong will to move forward without fear and being swayed by the world view. (wk/eval)
