JTBC confirmed that it will be working with Kakao Entertainment, Kross Pictures, and a major Japanese broadcasting station to produce a remake of the Korean drama "Itaewon Class."

According to Soompi, Friday (25/3/2022), based on the popular webtoon of the same title, "Itaewon Class" tells the story of a group of young people who work together to fight against an unfair world.

During its airing on JTBC in 2020, the drama recorded a personal best viewership rating of 18.3 percent for the final episode, becoming the second highest-rated drama in JTBC history.

Starring Park Seo Joon and Kim Da Mi, this Korean drama is receiving a lot of love for its excellent acting and interesting story. In addition, the drama plot, hairstyle, and soundtrack are also attracting a lot of attention.

In 2021, “Itaewon Class” also won Best Drama Series at the 25th Asian Television Awards.

As the drama began to gain popularity in Japan, Japanese digital comic platform Piccoma released the webtoon “Roppongi Class” and the drama took No. 1 on the Japanese Netflix charts. With that success came the decision that eventually led to plans to remake the drama.

The Japanese remake of "Roppongi Class" has confirmed the casting of Japan's top actors and will air as a 13-part series this summer.

For your information, JTBC also recently confirmed the Indian remake of their drama “Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food” (also known as “Something in the Rain”). /celebrties.id
