MAMAMOO's Whee In opened up about the reason she chose not to renew her contract with RBW Company because of one factor which was a unanimous decision for her.
Whee In Mamamoo's decision not to renew his contract with the RBW Company agency had made fans panic for fear that this one idol would rarely appear with their group. However, there was another reason for Whee In to make this decision.
On Friday (4/2), Whee In appeared on the KBS program "[t=Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook". Instead of being a member of MAMAMOO, this female idol appeared as a soloist who just released her new mini album "WHEE" on January 16.
In the broadcast, the "Water Color" singer talked about the biggest factor that convinced him to finally leave RBW Company after being with them since their debut in 2014. "I've been in the entire company (RBW) for more than 10 years since I was a trainee. I need stimulation in a new and refreshing environment. That's the biggest reason," explained the female singer briefly.
In particular, in June 2021, Whee In decided not to renew her contract with RBW Company after her contract expired. While fans are worried about what will happen to the group, both parties clarified that this one idol will remain a member of MAMAMOO and will actively join their group activities including comebacks and concerts until 2023.
After leaving RBW Company, Whee In officially confirmed in August 2021 that he had found the agency THE L1VE as his new place. This newly established agency was founded by VIXX's Ravi. Six months after his transfer, Whee In shared his current status at the new agency and complimented Ravi on the way he handles artists.
"Ravi is comfortable together as if I've known him for a long time. He is a very caring person, even carefully deciding what people usually think like whether they will care about this? Ravi directed the album colors in detail as well, even the location, " said Whee In showing off their CEO.
"But he is not stubborn. Fortunately, it suits me in that regard. Even if his opinion is buried, he gives up willingly," added Whee In, highlighting that Ravi really pays attention to details and the feelings of his artist.
Meanwhile, Whee In also shared his solo plans for this year. During the event, Whee In revealed that she plans to work harder and create a place where she can meet her fans. (wk/taki)
