Jang Won Young shared his transparent thoughts about the division of positions in IVE, especially the leader position given to Ahn Yujin in the recent live broadcast.
Due to IVE's ever-increasing popularity, the members have been busy participating in their promotional activities and the last member to do so was none other than Jang Won Young. He recently held a live broadcast for all his fans, where he discussed a variety of different topics. But it was the topic of his group position that started to take over the headlines.
Jang Won Young shared his transparent thoughts about the division of positions in IVE, especially the leader position given to Ahn Yujin. He shared that at first, he had a hard time accepting that Yujin was the leader of the group and found himself surprisingly saddened by the decision.
"When I first found out, I thought, 'Unnie is the leader?' I don't know why I'm sad about it, but I feel sad about the decision," said Jang Won Young.
The IVE member shared that over time, however, he was able to accept the decision and realized that Yujin was the most suitable for the position. "But as expected, he has done a great job as our leader. I think he is the best member to be our leader," he said.
While Jang Won Young's comments were taken out of context for some netizens with some alleging that she disrespected Ahn Yujin, her sadness, in fact, did not reflect jealousy. Instead, he shared "sadness" with the decision due to their previous experience as IZ*ONE members.
Ahn Yujin and Jang Won Young both made their famous first official debut in 2018 with the girl group IZ*ONE. The two have had tremendous success with their former girl group, but one of the main differences during their time at IZ*ONE versus their time with IVE is their age. More specifically, it was their age position in the group.
The two idols were previously the two youngest members when they promoted with IZ*ONE, but now, they are no longer the youngest members in their current girl group. In fact, Ahn Yujin is the second oldest member of IVE while Jang Won Young is the fourth oldest member. (wk/goddess)
