'All of Us Are Dead' Director Apologizes About Sex Scene, Triggers Unexpected Reaction

'All of Us Are Dead', apart from receiving praise, was also hit by controversy for its provocative scenes, such as scenes depicting sexual violence against female students.

The director of "All of Us Are Dead", Lee Jae Kyu recently had an interview session discussing various interesting things in his zombie drama. One of the things the director discussed was about scenes of sexual violence.

"All of Us Are Dead" apart from receiving praise for its plot, it was also hit by controversy for its provocative scenes, such as scenes depicting sexual violence against female students at the beginning of its broadcast.

Director Lee Jae Kyu is aware of the critics accusing him of harassing the female students in the scene too much. "I want people to see how cruel the bullies, the perpetrators are, to him," the director said.

"As a director, I apologize if the scenes depicted are too exaggerated than I intended and also apologize for causing inconvenience to anyone," added the director.

The apology of the director of "All of Us Are Dead" apparently reaped unexpected comments from netizens. Many say that the director should not apologize because sexual violence that occurs in real life is actually even worse.

"Director, you don't need to apologize. This is actually worse in reality, and it's something that people need to be more aware of. How long are we going to keep quiet about this matter and hide it under the carpet?" wrote one netizen.

"I think of this show as a reflection of our reality. Our reality is actually like this, and that's why we need to pay more attention to our children. Thank you for showing this in your work. You can't please everyone at once," added another.

"That scene was about sexual harassment, it was what people expected it to be? Some melodrama? How exactly do you have to describe it to get the message across properly? Don't people realize that it's actually a lot worse in real life?" concluded the other netizens.

Meanwhile, "All of Us Are Dead" tells about an extreme situation that occurs when a high school is infected with a zombie virus. People from outside then try to save the students who are trapped in the school. (wk/charity)
