The last episode of "The Red Sleeve" which aired on Saturday (1/1) presented many sad scenes. One of them is the death of Crown Prince Munhyo, the first son of King Jeongjo (Junho 2PM) and Consort Seong Ui Bin (Lee Se Young).
Crown Prince Munhyo died at the age of 4 due to measles. Because Concubine Seong Ui Bin was pregnant and had never had measles, she was not allowed to see her son to avoid contracting it.
Before the prince's death, Concubine Seong Ui Bin was waiting anxiously in front of her son's palace. But because he was not allowed to enter, he finally returned to his residence.
As soon as Concubine Seong Ui Bin arrived at her residence, Palace officials announced the death of Crown Prince Munhyo. That's why he felt so sad that he couldn't see his son one last time.
The death of Crown Prince Munhyo was also a major blow to King Jeongjo. Nevertheless, he tries to be strong in front of others so that he can overcome the measles epidemic that is currently engulfing Joseon.
