The dating reality show "Single's Inferno" is currently one of the most popular content not only in South Korea, but worldwide. How not, this program is in the top 10 Netflix television shows in the world, and ranked 5th in Indonesia as of Friday (7/1).
"Single's Inferno" is said to be the Korean version of "Too Hot To Handle" where the program features participants consisting of handsome men and beautiful women. How will the international audience react to this matchmaking program?
Since the first episode aired, "Single's Inferno" has received a lot of responses. That's because one of the male participants commented on how beautiful and white Shin Ji Yeon is who is also one of the belle of the show.
However, it turned out that there was a misunderstanding because it was translated into "white" which sparked racism controversy abroad. With the translation error, this controversy is suspected because of cultural differences from one country to another.
Now, "Single's Inferno" only has two episodes left where the response from overseas viewers is only getting more and more enthusiastic. Having become a hot topic, this program is the first South Korean entertainment show to break into the World Top 10 on Netflix. Netizens outside Korea also shared their thoughts on the program.
"I hope the sexy atmosphere and the rapid development of 'Too Hot To Handle', but the participants show slower progress than high school students," said one netizen.
Apart from the lack of sexy interaction between participants on an uninhabited island, some netizens think that what is displayed is so fresh. Although the approach process was slow, the appeal of "Single's Inferno" was judged to lie there.
"This is a pure and innocent dating show that I have never seen before," commented a netizen. "The atmosphere is fresh as if they are schoolchildren," continued another netizen. "It's nice to see everyone is considerate and careful of their partner," said another.
Meanwhile, episodes of "Single's Inferno" are released every Saturday. If you are interested in matchmaking on an uninhabited island complete with drama, don't forget to watch it. (wk/inta)
