Shortly after it was announced that they had disbanded, some of the APRIL members wrote touching letters to fans.
On Friday (28/1), DSP Media officially announced the disbandment of APRIL. Shortly after disbanding, a number of APRIL members spoke to fans via handwritten letters to convey their feelings.
First, Chaewon expressed his gratitude and apologies in a lengthy letter. She wrote, "To be honest, I don't know what the right thing to say. The only thing that comes to mind is the words 'Thank you'."
He continued, "The amount of time I've spent as a member of APRIL, with our fans, has always been the most precious moment of my life. And no matter how much time passes, this will never change and I can't believe that this is the end."
"The end of one thing marks the beginning of another and I promise that I will always be with you," he said. "I wish we could greet all of you on stage once again one day, but that's not possible anymore and I'm sorry for that."
"I live believing that I did the best that I could. But looking back, there have been times that I regretted and many others that left me feeling disappointed."
Yena also shared her honest thoughts by saying, "I don't feel comfortable greeting all of you with unpleasant news like this. From today, I will set the title 'APRIL'. There were so many events that led to this decision, and I have accepted lots of questions."
"I sincerely thank you all for giving me so many beautiful memories every day for the past 7 years," he added. "I will never forget it. I also want to take this opportunity to tell our members, who have gone through a rough and difficult road since our pre-debut days until now, that you have been through a lot."
"Even after that incident, there was never a day when I felt like I couldn't stand tall in front of our Fineapple. I want to remain an artist that our fans are proud of and I'm sorry that I can no longer live up to those expectations," he continued.
She added, "This might be the last time I greet you as APRIL's Yena. But I will do my best to show you a better side of myself as soon as possible as Yang Yena, so please support me."
Lastly, the maknae Jinsol shared, "I want to do everything I can to protect APRIL's name. But in the end, we came to this decision after concluding that it was time for it to end."
"I want to sincerely thank our members, who endured the ups and downs with me for 7 years, and from now on I will cheer for those who will walk their own paths," he said.
"I admit that I'm scared, but I will muster up my courage and find my own path starting today. This separation did not last long at all," he concluded.
Meanwhile, APRIL debuted as a 7-member group with members Somin, Chaewon, Naeun, Yena, Hyunjoo, Rachel and Jinsol in August 2015. After Somin and Hyunjoo left APRIL in the range of 2015-2016, Chaekyung joined as a new member. (wk/eval)
