Jae has recently come under fire for his jokes about Jamie. After the person concerned felt offended, Jae released an apology via his personal Twitter account.
DAY6's Jae makes inappropriate jokes about Jamie (Park Ji Min). After the person concerned felt offended, Jae released an apology via his personal Twitter account.
In a clip of the Twitch live stream that went viral, Jae was talking to his viewers when he decided to talk about JAMIE. The former idol made by JYP Entertainment used terms that demeaned women.
"Okay, now that I'm not in K-Pop anymore, I can say this. Why is Jamie trying to be a thot? That's right, I said it, told him! I said it. Tell him!" Jae said with a chuckle.
Thot is a derogatory term that refers to a woman who has many casual sexual encounters or relationships. Another clip is spreading all over social media, showing Jae stating that he considers Jamie a close friend and queen of badass.
A viewer comments that Jae might be in trouble, and Jae mentions that he shouldn't have said what he said. Some people believe that Jae is making jokes about his friends, while others think he is overstepping his limits with his comments.
Jamie later responded on Twitter. "What the hell?" she wrote, continuing with, "Remember how much I cared about you before you even joined your old agency." Jamie regretted that he had to hear such insults from people who were once close to him.
Shortly after, Jamie deleted his post, stating that he was fine. He also shared another post, expressing his displeasure at women who are looked down upon and victimized for the benefit of others online.
In response, Jae released an apology on his personal Twitter account, apologizing for the comments he made about Jamie on his Twitch live stream.
"I want to apologize to Jamie and everyone about what I said. It was definitely the worst comment and I feel very bad for making Jamie feel the way he feels now," wrote Jae.
"I thought I was joking, but I realized it wasn't. I didn't mean to associate Jamie with the term, but just a 'cool,' aura and I thought it was the same. But I realize this doesn't justify my comment. I sincerely apologize to Jamie and everyone who got hurt because of my comment," Jae continued. (wk/chus)
