On Thursday (27/01), Red Velvet became one of the idol groups who were also present at the 2021 Gaon Chart Music Awards.
Arriving at the event location, Red Velvet did a general photo shoot for reporters on the red carpet of the event.
The five Red Velvet members were seen wearing all-white dresses, as well as their masks. However, some reporters forced Red Velvet to take off the mask.

However, Red Velvet was finally forced to take off the masks they were wearing because of pressure from several reporters at the event location.
Netizens also criticized several reporters for forcing Red Velvet to take off their masks in the conditions of the increasing spread of COVID-19.
While other netizens noticed the expression of Irene, who is the leader of Red Velvet, who looked annoyed that they had to take off their masks at that time.
