TWICE Cancels 'TWICE 4TH WORLD TOUR III' in Seoul Day One, Netizens Disagree

JYP stated that they had prepared for the offline concert while following the social distancing guidelines imposed by the disease control authority and relevant government authorities.

TWICE has decided to cancel their planned offline concert which will be held in Seoul next week. This was announced through the official statement of their agency, JYP Entertainment, on Thursday (16/12).

Hello, this is JYPE. Due to stricter social distancing guidelines being implemented due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases, we have decided to cancel one of TWICE's offline concerts, 'TWICE 4TH WORLD TOUR III' which was scheduled for December 24, " said JYP Entertainment.

The agency stated that they had prepared for the offline concert while following the social distancing guidelines imposed by the disease control authority and relevant government authorities and ensuring the safety of the artist and audience.

However, stricter social distancing guidelines mean the venue now has limited operating hours, so they have canceled the concert scheduled for December 24. The December 25 and 26 offline concerts will still take place, as well as the December 26 Beyond LIVE online concert.

JYP concluded, "We will reveal more details later about the cancellation and refund procedures for canceled offline concerts. We will do our best to get the audience's money back as quickly as possible. We sincerely apologize to those who have been looking forward to this concert," concluded JYP.

The Seoul concert at the KSPO Dome is meant to kick off the world tour of TWICE, which has so far announced stops in Los Angeles, Oakland, Dallas, Atlanta, and New York in February 2022. The cancellation of the first day of the concert did not escape the comments of netizens on the TheQoo website.

"But there are still two more days... What about the fans who bought tickets for the first day?" netizen comments. "Wow what is this? I feel sorry for the fans," said another netizen. "Well, because Friday is not a weekend, the concert will start and end late... That's why they canceled it," said another.

"I feel very sad for the fans who bought tickets for the first concert," said a netizen. "I'm not a fan, but this is a shame and fans will be upset," another commented. "No, I don't even need to take my mask off at concerts, so why?" added another.

Meanwhile, South Korea is currently seeing more than 7,000 cases of COVID-19 per day, prompting the government to implement stricter measures to control the spread of the virus. (wk/goddess)
