After seven episodes running, 'The Red Sleeve' managed to score double-digit ratings for the first time for MBC in 3 years. The story of 2PM's Junho and Lee Se Young is getting more and more awaited.
The MBC drama, "The Red Sleeve" has just set a rating record on Friday's episode (3/12). The love story between 2PM's Junho and Lee Se Young's characters turned out to have captured the hearts of viewers.
According to Nielsen Korea, episode 7 of "The Red Sleve" has surpassed the ratings in the previous week. Standing in double digits, this drama received a rating of 10.7 percent. That figure is up from around 9 percent last week.
This double-digit rating achievement is the first for MBC television station since the last 3 years. Previously, the MBC drama that was able to penetrate 10 percent was "My Secret Terrius" which aired in 2018.
"The Red Sleeve" itself is a fictional story about the court romance between King Jeongjo of the Koseon Dynasty and his royal concubine, Uibin Sung. Junho played Yi San, who would later become King Jeongjo. Meanwhile, Lee Se Young plays Sung Deok Im, a palace maid who wants to make choices in her life instead of just being one of the king's ladies.
In episode 7, Yi San and Sung Deok Im's relationship is described as starting to show development despite being in the shadow of doubt. After being involved in a fairly intense incident in the bathroom, where Sung Deok Im fell in the tub with Yi San, both of them were shaken.
After the moments they shared together, their feelings blossomed. Sung Deok Im realizes Yi San's intentions towards her, realizes the shocking fact behind Dayang Jo's (Park Ji Young) intention of turning her into an educated woman and assigns her to the library. The senior lady intends to make Sung Deok Im into Yi San's concubine.
After so many tug-of-war feelings for each other, Yi San finally confronted Sung Deok Im who was seen with his older brother. Without knowing the truth, Yi San questions whether Sung Deok Im really belongs to him. The love story that began to grow between the two has captivated viewers and is looking forward to the continuation.
Meanwhile, "The Red Sleeve" can be watched every Friday and Saturday at 22.00 local time. Don't miss watching it. (wk/inta)
