Rookie Grand Slam is a term when an artist is able to win an award for having the best performance at the five major award shows in South Korea.

The five prestigious award ceremonies are the MelOn music Awards (MMA), Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), Golden Disk Awards (GDA), Gaon Chart Music Awards (GCMA) and Seoul Music Awards (SMA).

Reporting from Allkpop, Monday (12/6/2021), the Korean Music Awards (KMA) is one of the most prestigious events in South Korea. Unfortunately, no Korean idol won Rookie Of The Year at the KMA event, December this year.

EXO has 2 out of 5 awards and ratings given. Then followed by GOT7, Red Velvet, Mamamoo, Twice, and Seventeen.

Some other groups that are approaching another Rookie Grand Slam are by BTS, WINNER, GFRIEND, NCT 127, BlackPink, I.O.I, Wanna One.

However, the highest rating was won by iKon and Wanna One, the 3rd generation who got the Rookie Grand Slam. iKon is the first Korean idol group to reach the Rookie Grand Slam in December 2021, followed by Wanna One. /celebrities.id
