The latest episode of "The Red Sleeve" presents many interesting scenes. One of them is the friendship between Yi San or King Jeongjo (2PM Junho) and Hong Deok Ro (Kang Hoon).
In episode 14, Hong Deok Ro started going crazy after his sister died. He even attempted to slander the Queen by kidnapping a number of Palace ladies.
The king who can no longer tolerate Hong Deok Ro's crimes intends to sentence him to death. But he eventually overturned the sentence and removed Hong Deok Ro from his post.
At the end of episode 15, Hong Deok Ro was reported to have died. This news made the King sad. Because even though he was betrayed, Hong Deok Ro was the only friend he had.
Before he died, Hong Deok Ro had written a letter to the King. In his letter, he admits that he was not the one who saved the King in the past and regrets lying to him.
In addition, Hong Deok Ro also gave a small suggestion as a friend. He said, "I'm going to go see my sister now. If I may offer you one last piece of advice, please don't fool yourself like I did."
The King burst into tears when he read the letter. He also expressed his affection for Hong Deok Ro in a letter.
The king wrote, "Her family name is Hong and her real name is Gukyeong. Her legal name is Deok Ro. She is my person, my family and my only friend."
"He's always lived alone in the lonely Crown Prince Palace. Did I do what's best for him? Didn't I cause his death?" concluded the King.
Unfortunately the letter was immediately burned shortly after it was written. King Jeongjo also looked very sad and couldn't hold back his tears.
Meanwhile, "The Red Sleeve" only leaves two final episodes and will air its last episode on January 1, 2022. Later this drama will be replaced with "Tracer" starring Siwan. (wk/eval)
