Viu, PCCW's pan-regional OTT video streaming service, announced that the highly anticipated Korean crime thriller drama, 'One Ordinary Day', will be released soon. After announcing a series of famous Viu Original Korean dramas, such as 'Lovers of The Red Sky' and 'Now We are Breaking Up', Viu will present the next K-drama that Viue-ers have been waiting for.
Airing on November 27, 2021, 'One Ordinary Day' will feature some of South Korea's top stars, such as Kim Soo-hyun, who starred in the hit drama 'It's Okay to Not Be Okay', veteran actor Cha Seoung-won, and the star of 'Less Than. Evil', Lee Seol.
'One Ordinary Day' is based on a British drama entitled 'Criminal Justice'. In the Korean remake, the story revolves around the lives of two men who change completely after a woman is found murdered. Kim Soo-hyun plays an ordinary college student who suddenly becomes the prime suspect in the gruesome murder of a woman he had spent the night with. With all the circumstantial evidence pointing at him and the increased scrutiny in the media and social media, prosecutors want to find him guilty.
The only person who comes forward to take his case is Shin Joong-han (Cha Seung-won), an unknown lawyer who barely passes the certification exam. He decides to help Hyun-soo with the intuition that he is innocent. Given the odds, the pair must fight to uphold justice and uncover the real culprits in a case that will not only change their lives, but shake up the nation's criminal justice system.
'One Ordinary Day' was produced by Chorokbaem Media ('Penthouse', 'Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung'), Studio M and Gold Medalist ('It's Okay to Not Be Okay'). Written by Kwon Soon-gyu ('The Royal Gambler', 'Warrior Baek Dong Soo', 'Jackpot'), the drama is directed by renowned director, Lee Myung-woo ('Backstreet Rookie', 'The Fiery Priest', 'Punch , Whisper').
With the release of 'Lovers of The Red Sky' last week, Viu ensures that Viu-ers have interesting dramas every month. The historical fantasy romance drama starring Ahn Hyo-seop, Kim Yoo-jung, Gong Myung and Kwak Si-which is very popular among K-drama lovers. This is the third Korean Original Viu series after the highly successful 'River Where the Moon Rises' and 'Doom At Your Service'.
Prior to 'One Ordinary Day', Viu will release Viu Original drama 'Now We are Breaking Up', starring high-end actress Song Hye-kyo, scheduled to be released on November 12th. In 2021, Viu has released a number of popular K-dramas, such as The 'Penthouse', 'Sell Your Haunted House', 'Taxi Driver' and 'Police University'.
