Unpleasant news came from the K-Pop music group, EXO. One of the personnel, Kim Min-seok or well-known by the name Xiumin, is reported to have tested positive for Covid-19.
This was announced directly by his agency, SM Entertainment. Through his official statement, Xiumin was diagnosed as positive for Covid-19 on Thursday, August 5, 2021.
"This is SM Entertainment. Xiumin was confirmed to be diagnosed with Covid-19 today," he wrote, quoted from Soompi, Thursday (5/8/2021).
According to information from the agency, Xiumin had a Covid-19 test and the results were negative on July 29 last. However, he returned for a PCR test on August 4th due to his health condition.
Finally, after the results came out on August 5, Xiumin was confirmed positive. As a result, the other EXO members and staff members have also been tested for Covid-19 and are quarantined individually pending the results.
In addition, the agency revealed, this news has also been informed to all broadcast programs that had contact with Xiumin. The staff members and several cast members of the musical in 'Hadestown', who had rehearsed with Xiumin will also be tested for Covid-19.
Meanwhile, Xiumin is currently resting so he can recover quickly from the virus. "Xiumin immediately stopped all scheduled activities and will actively follow the process and guidance provided by the health authorities, and we will also do our best so that the artist can recover quickly," wrote SM Entertainment.
