The hit zombie thriller from South Korea, Train to Busan is rumored to be a Hollywood remake. However, it did not get the support of film lovers.

New Line as the holder of the rights to the remake of the film has confirmed the news and is preparing to launch the project. Reportedly, the film which will be the US version will be directed by Timo Tjahjanto, an Indonesian director.

However, this news turned out to be in the spotlight of netizens on Twitter social media. They did not agree that Train to Busan should be remake. For them, the original zombie apocalypse thriller directed by Sang Ho Yeon already has a unique and extraordinary image so that if it is recycled, they are afraid that it will damage it.

"Train to Busan doesn't need to be remade!!!! This is already a wonderfully unique film, don't spoil it!!!" wrote a netizen quoted from TimesofIndia, on Monday (30/8/2021)

"Honestly, Train to Busan doesn't need a remake because the film itself can stand alone without any other country versions," wrote another netizen

In fact, many still doubt Tjahjanto's ability to become the main director of the remake.

"I'm as nervous as anyone about the Train to Busan remake, but you all better start respecting the name of Timo Tjahjanto, an Indonesian director who did some of the most disgusting things out there," wrote another netizen.

Meanwhile, Timo Tjahjanto is reportedly in negotiations to direct, James Wan as producer and Gary Dauberman as screenwriter. This film doesn't have a release date yet.

Train to Busan stars Gong Yoo and Kim Su-an as the main characters. It is the 14th highest-grossing South Korean film of all time. /celebrities.id
