One of the trainee groups on 'Girls Planet 999' bravely performed one of Tiffany's songs on TaeTiSeo. Upon seeing the appearance of the three trainees, Tiffany actually showed an expression like this.
The first episode of "Girls Planet 999" was broadcast on Friday (6/8). In the premiere, the trainees were divided into small groups to demonstrate their abilities and were evaluated.
The event went smoothly, each group representing a certain country or agency demonstrated their skills by appearing in front of the mentors to determine their training class. One of the groups ventured to perform the song "Twinkle" by TaeTiSeo, a sub-group of SNSD or Girls' Generation. Interestingly, Tiffany as one of the mentors called the K-Pop Master is part of TaeTiSeo.
But apparently Tiffany seemed less impressed with the appearance of the three trainees. Even his fellow mentors, including Sunmi couldn't control his expression when the group performed. Sunmi caught a glance at Tiffany to see if she was happy or not.
At first the appearance of the three trainees from China was smooth and showed decent vocal skills. However, the vocals of one of them were split until it seemed unpleasant to hear. The high notes that were sung overlapped so much that the other mentors frowned and Tiffany sighed.
Mnet also uploaded the full video of the three trainees on the Mnet K-POP YouTube channel. So that the audience can see how it looks as a whole and can be taken into consideration when participating in giving an assessment.
In the comments column for the full video of the three trainees, comments appeared saying that they were not as bad as on television. Some netizens even mentioned that Mnet had edited it to make it look so bad. Even some netizens actually appreciated their courage to bring the song in front of Tiffany.
"Honestly her appearance isn't that bad as edited by Mnet, especially if you compare it to the others," wrote one netizen. "This song is a vocal battle between TaeTiSeo so I'm not surprised that it will be difficult for trainees to perform. Whatever the result, I appreciate their courage to try," continued another netizen. (wk/inta)
