BIGBANG's Seungri was officially sentenced to three years in prison in the decision of the military court trial held on Thursday (12/8/2021). He was convicted of violating nine counts.

These include violating the Law on Severing Sentences, Special Economic Crimes, the Food Sanitation Act, and Sexual Crimes.

He was also found guilty of violating the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act, mediating prostitution, purchasing prostitution services, and incitement to special violence.

Seungri was also fined 1,156,900,000 Korean won, or around Rp. 15 billion. Seungri's latest status will also be registered nationally.

"The defendant conspired with Yoo In Suk to mediate prostitution for foreign investors on several occasions and made a profit," the judge said in the trial, quoted from Soompi.

"The defendant's crime of commercializing sex had a great negative impact on society," the judge said.

The court also stated, “Because his testimony was inconsistent and changed between police investigations, prosecution investigations, and in court, his credibility was low.”

Seungri denies all charges except violation of the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act. Because the court saw the potential risk of escaping, Seungri was immediately arrested.

The detention automatically cancels Seungri's obligation to join the military in September 2021 /celebrities.id
