Seungri, former BIGBANG member, was sentenced to three years in prison by a South Korean military court. He plans to appeal the sentence for the sex crimes and prostitution cases.

As reported by Allkpop, Saturday (21/8/2021), Seungri was sentenced to three years in prison and a fine of 1.15 billion Korean Won, or around Rp. 15 billion.

Seungri denied all the cases that were charged to him. He and his team of lawyers made sure to file an appeal.

As is well known, under current South Korean law, cases where a suspect is sentenced to prison or a fine must be brought to court within ten days from the date the verdict was rendered.

Seungri was accused of prostitution by providing women to investors from Taiwan, Japan, and Hong Kong. He has been in the business from December 2015 to January 2021.

He did this to attract investment in his nightclub. In addition to prostitution, Seungri was also charged with nine other charges.

However, in court, he denied eight other charges except violating the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act. /celebrities.id
