Legendary Golfer Park Se-Ri Changes Profession, Becomes a Talk Show Host

Since retiring in 2016, legendary golfer Park Se-ri has changed professions, from startup founder to coach of the Korean national golf team.

Launching the Koreatimes on Saturday (7/3/2021), Park Se-ri will start her new career as the host of a talk show about golf entitled, 'SeriMoney Club,' which will air this Wednesday on JTBC.

"As a professional player, I feel there is a gap between myself and the public regarding the image of golf. To many people, golf appears to be much more difficult to access than other sports," Park said during the event's online conference.

'Money Club Series' will also star comedian Yang Se-chan and singer Kim Jong-kook, this event will invite guests from various fields to the golf club to share their personal stories of playing golf against the players.

In the first episode, Kim Min-cheol, CEO of the English training company Yanadoo, will be a guest on the show and share his story of how he became the founder of a company that has grown rapidly.

Park said that playing golf with the aim of donating with the guests was his idea to give a show a more meaningful purpose.

"I'm one of those people who don't think golf is a good topic for a variety show. But if we're going to be playing golf, then I think we should combine those two things, and do it for a long time, and with the goal good one," said Park Se-ri.

Chief producer Sung Hee-seong said he decided to make the show with Park Se-ri because he is now more into the sport of golf.

“Golf is getting more and more popular these days… so I thought it would be suitable for variety shows,” he said. /celebrities.id
