Kingdom is one of the most popular Korean dramas. Interestingly, the drama will return this month with a special episode titled Ashin of the North.
Kingdom is a zombie-infused period drama, set in a Korean kingdom that is on the verge of collapse due to a zombie outbreak triggered by the king's death.
At the end of the second season of Kingdom, the crown prince Lee Chang and the healer Seo-Bi travel to the north in search of the origin of a mysterious plant that can resurrect the dead. In a village, they meet the figure of Ashin, played by Gianna Jun, who apparently knows the secret behind the plant and has a way of controlling the undead.
Kingdom: Ashin of the North will explore Ashin's actions; his origins, his motivations and where he could learn about the mysterious plant.
In the latest trailer for Kingdom: Ashin of the North which was uploaded on the YouTube channel, viewers are presented with views of the lush forests of North Korea and are home to several small and warm villagers.
Little Ashin, while exploring, came across a cave containing a mysterious flower whose mythical ability to resurrect the dead. Telling this to his family, he was forbidden to play in the forest because of the many tigers that threatened him.
Before long, Ashin's village was invaded by a group of bandits who massacred his family. So the only survivor, he asks the Joseon government for help to take revenge. Unfortunately, Ashin's request was rejected. He walked alone and grew up with a grudge.
As an adult, Ashin vows to kill everyone in the land of Joseon for refusing to help his village. While carrying out his mission, he accidentally gets caught in a zombie outbreak that is besieging Joseon. As a survivor, Ashin must be able to survive under any circumstances and in any way; including taking advantage of the zombies.
Kingdom: Ashin of the North will be directed by Kim Seong-Hun who was involved in the first season of Kingdom and written by Kim Eun-Hee who worked on the second season of Kingdom. This drama stars Gianna Jun, Kim Sia, and Park Byung-Eun. /celebrities.id
