EXID's Hani, Kwak Si Yang, and Kim Min Kyu are confirmed to star in JTBC's new drama, Idol: The Coup.

This drama depicts the story of three teenagers who are ambitious to achieve success by justifying any means. They rise and fall through challenges in order to realize their dreams as idols.

Launching Soompi on Wednesday (7/7/2021), Idol: The Coup will be directed by No Jong Chan. The script was written by Jung Yoon Jung.

Hani will play Kim Je Na, a member of the six-year-old idol group Cotton Candy who is considered a failure.

Kwak Si Yang will play Cha Jae Hyuk, the CEO of the Cotton Candy agency Starpeace Entertainment, who is considered a cold "human calculator".

Kim Min Kyu will play Seo Ji Han, a member of the popular idol group Mas who is also under Starpeace Entertainment.

Professional producers, artists and creators will collaborate to create music and performances in plays. In addition, Transparent Arts, which is producing this drama, will collaborate with JTBC Studio to co-produce Idol: The Coup. /celebrities.id
