BLACKPINK will join Weverse's global fan community platform which opens on August 2, 2021. This was announced by YG Entertainment on Wednesday (14/7/2021).
The joining of BLACKPINK allows members to communicate with BLINKs, the name of BLACKPINK's official fan club, from all over the world more easily.
In particular, ahead of their fifth debut anniversary on August 8, fans are curious to know what new content or special events will be revealed through Weverse.
Reported by Soompi, a source from YG Entertainment explained that this will be part of BLACKPINK’s fifth anniversary project “4+1 Project.”
Following TREASURE and iKON, BLACKPINK is the third group from YG Entertainment to join the community platform.
Previously, YG Entertainment had announced their plans to strengthen their strategic partnership with HYBE (formerly Big Hit Entertainment) and Weverse Company.
BLACKPINK made their debut in August 2016 and since then they have released many hits, such as “DDU-DU DDU-DU” and “Kill This Love.”
In October last year, the group made history when their first full-length album "THE ALBUM" debuted at No. 2 on Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart.
BLACKPINK also became the first Korean girl group to earn the title of "million seller" with the album. In addition to having 29 videos with over hundreds of millions of views, the group has more than 63 million subscribers on YouTube and more than 22 million followers on Spotify. /celebrities.id
