1. Pre-debut Era

Before their official debut as 2PM, the members had already debuted with a group called One Day which was the result of the survival show Hot Blood Men. Finally, the 11-member group was split into two groups, namely 2PM and 2AM. 2PM itself consists of 7 members including Jaebum, Jun.K, Nichkhun, Taecyeon, Wooyoung, Junho, and Chansung. This group focuses on hip hop dance and debuted under JYP Entertainment.

2. Officially Debuted In 2008

2PM officially debuted on August 29, 2008 with the release of an album entitled Hottest Time of the Day with the main song 10 Out of 10. The concept of the group they adopted was tough, macho, and masculine men who were very different from most boy bands at that time. At that time, Jaebum became the leader in the group because he was the oldest member and was recognized by the other members that he was the most talented.

3. Jaebum left 2PM

When 2PM was at the peak of popularity, Jaebum as the leader stumbled on a racism case about his upload on his MySpace account. At that time, Jaebum had already made an apology, but netizens kept urging him to leave the group. Finally, in September 2009 he left the group and returned to the United States. The impact of this scandal made 2PM cancel their appearances on several variety shows. Jaebum is now a soloist under the stage name Jay Park.

4. Increasingly Popular Through the Song Hand's Up

2PM's popularity even increased when they released their full album, Hand's Up, in 2011. Although the promotion of the song was only one month after its release, this song is very popular in South Korea and abroad. In fact, thanks to this song, 2PM has been nominated for various prestigious award shows.

5. Japanese debut

They further spread their wings by debuting in Japan by releasing a song titled Take Off which was featured as the ending theme in the anime series Blue Exorcist. After that, 2PM held their first Japanese concert tour called 2PM 1st Japan Tour 2011 Take Off which started in Sapporo and ended in Tokyo. In November 2011, they released their first Japanese studio album entitled Republic of 2PM.

6. Released Last Album Before Hiatus

Before the members went on hiatus to go to military service, they released an album titled Gentlemen's Man in September 2016 with the title song Promise (I'll Be). In 2018, five of the six members of 2PM renewed their contracts with JYP Entertainment. However, Taecyeon left JYPE and is still a member of 2PM. During their hiatus, their song My House even went viral.

7. Returning with a full lineup in 2021

After completing their mandatory military service, 2PM returned with a complete lineup by releasing the album MUST and the main song titled Make It. Not only releasing albums, they also appear on the Knowing Bros variety show which will air on July 3, 2021. Their newly released album has sold over 31.4K records and became 2PM's best-selling album of their entire career. /hot.detik.com
