On Thursday (17/6/2021), the Seoul Central District Court ruled that the exclusive contract between Lai Kuanlin and Cube Entertainment was invalid, according to the lawsuit of the former Wanna One personnel. In addition to winning Lai Kuanlin, the court also required Cube to pay all the trial fees for this case.
"The defendant must pay all the costs of the litigation (settlement of the case)," the court decided, as reported by Soompi, Friday (18/6/2021).
The contract problem between Lai Kuanlin and Cube Entertainment began in July 2019 when the Produce 101 season 2 dropout said the agency violated their contract. At that moment, Lai Kuanlin directly requested the termination of the contract between them.
In November of that year, the Seoul Central District Court rejected Lai Kuanlin's request. In May 2020, the star of A Little Thing Called First Love filed an appeal, which the court also rejected.
After that, Lai Kuanlin's attorney filed a lawsuit for the invalidity of their client's contract with Cube Entertainment. Since then, 4 trials were held and ended with a decision on June 17 yesterday, with Lai Kuanlin's side winning. /celebrity.okezone.com
