Cosmetics Brand LALALEE'S Posting an Online Apology Statement Apologizing To BTS Fans And Revealing That They Will Submit The Copyright.
It was previously reported that cosmetic brand LALALEE'S has filed a copyright for the term "Borahae" according to the KIPRIS website. BTS (Bangtan Boys) fans, ARMY, took action and asked that their copyright be canceled.
Recently, the brand posted an online apology statement apologizing to BTS fans and revealing that they will give up the copyright.
"Last September 2020, our company requested the copyright for the term 'BORAHAE', and we sincerely apologize to fans who love BTS for causing concern," wrote LALALEE'S in an announcement posted on their official website.
"Our company has decided to cede the copyright to the term for further K-Pop development and we will take action as soon as possible. Going forward, as Koreans, we wish BTS the best of luck in their future efforts to spread K-Pop to the world. world."
"Borahae" is a term coined by V to refer to the final color of the rainbow, purple, which means that the group and fans will love each other until the end. After coining the word, ARMY all over the world began to express their love, support, and bond with each other, using "I Purple U" and "Borahae".
On May 28, Sports Kyunghyang asked about the reason and meaning of filing the “Borahae” trademark to LALALEE'S, who replied, “The CEO submitted it himself, so employees don't know the details. They are not here today, so please contact us again tomorrow.”
Many netizens commented that the company could not arbitrarily apply for a patent for "Borahae" because it was V's creation. However, not a few commented that the fans' reaction was excessive. Some blamed Big Hit Entertainment (now HYBE) for not filing it first.
Meanwhile, BTS recently made a comeback with the English single "Butter", which has broken records here and there. They have also premiered at the prestigious music awards event at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. (wk / chus)
