In an exclusive interview, the APRIL members fiercely denied that they were bullying Hyunjoo and exposed their former co-stars.
APRIL held an exclusive interview with Sports Kyunghyang, discussing the allegations of bullying in which Hyunjoo claimed to be the victim. The members vehemently denied that they were bullying Hyunjoo and revealed the things that cornered their former partner.
During the interview, Naeun straightened out the shoe and tumbler problem that Hyunjoo mentioned. Chaewon brought a psychological counseling note where she had detailed how Hyunjoo's insincerity and lies had caused her suffering.
The members were asked to think about Hyunjoo who confessed that he had attempted suicide due to alleged bullying. They claimed to know nothing and vehemently denied the accusation of bullying by saying that they were actually afraid of Hyunjoo.
All the members are afraid of Hyunjoo. There's no way we can bully someone like that. If you read Hyunjoo's brother's post, he claimed that after he attempted suicide, the members immediately realized and came to apologize. That's completely wrong. We have never seen or heard of Hyunjoo's suicide attempt. Since we don't know, we can't apologize either," explained the members.
They continued, "Logically, if a member of the same team made an extreme choice, whatever the reason, who would just let it go and pretend not to see it? Of course, we would go visit him. However, we don't have cell phones and we also didn't hear from the agency. We only found out after this matter exploded."
On the other hand, we were the ones who tried to cheer up Hyunjoo when he made things difficult for us. We even had a birthday party for him which was recorded in the video. It wasn't meant to be broadcast but we actually had a surprise party for him. Hyunjoo was really happy at the time. If we suppressed it, videos like that would not exist," they concluded.
The APRIL members revealed the sticker booth photos taken in 2015 when they were all still trainees. They also shared that Hyunjoo often said she didn't want to be an idol and that it was difficult for her and wanted to become an actress.
"Hyunjoo has always been sick since his training days and we had a hard time because he didn't show up for rehearsals. He also didn't appear on two music show schedules. On November 11, Hyunjoo didn't appear at rehearsals for 'Music Bank'," the members stated. that Hyunjoo often skipped while working with them.
"That day, he didn't even take a press photo of 'going to work' and went into the back of the building. We still clearly remember, because he didn't show up even before rehearsal, the members burst into tears and hurriedly practiced the choreography for 5 people. He came just in time. before the live broadcast and said that he had to do a live broadcast. After that, we couldn't perform the song on music shows. We thought we had received a penalty," they continued.
After that, when we started promoting for 'Tinkerbell', he didn't appear for 'Show Champion' at all. We had no idea why. He didn't show up for the broadcast either and the manager told us to go back to the dorm. removing the stickers on our faces and clip-in hair extensions."
The members continued to share, "The next day, the agency told us that we would be performing as four members from then on, and we stayed up late to prepare for the new choreography. We just thought that Hyunjoo must be sick again then." (wk/chus)
