The Korean Business Research Institute releases a monthly ranking list for popular celebrities.
Among the many Korean films that are popular overseas and are the topic of conversation in Korea, the actors and actresses have also gained popularity from the popularity of the projects they have starred in.
One of them is the veteran actress Youn Yuh Jung who won the most prestigious Oscar trophy thanks to the film "Minari" which she starred in. His popularity in May immediately took him to the top position of the most popular actors with a reputation index reaching 12,497,492.
In second place is Song Joong Ki, who is also attracting attention thanks to his acting in his latest film "Space Sweepers", which is the first Korean sci-fi film genre with a space theme. The actor who recently starred in the drama “Vincenzo” earned a reputation index of 8,257,973 for this May.
Furthermore, in third place there is actor Lee Dong Hwi who gets a reputation index of 6,159,894, followed by Lee Je Hoon with a reputation index of 6,019,774 and Gong Yoo with a reputation index of 5,374,042 which ranks fourth and fifth respectively.
