'Taxi Driver' Successfully Ended Its Serving At The Top For Friday And Saturday Night Slots. The End of This SBS Drama Final Episode Also Gives Season Two Possibilities.


"Taxi Driver" has aired its last episode on May 29, 2021. Not only scoring high ratings, this SBS drama final makes viewers sure that the story of Lee Je Hoon and friends will continue into season two.

"Taxi Driver" managed to end its run at the top for its Friday and Saturday night slots. According to Nielsen Korea, the final episode of the popular drama scored nationwide ratings averaging 10.9 percent and 15.3 percent for its two parts, with a peak of 18 percent in the most watched minutes.

Not only did "Taxi Driver" become the most watched drama of the week, but it also reached the fourth highest ranking of any Friday and Saturday drama in SBS history after "Penthouse 2", "The Fiery Priest", and "Stove League".

The 16th episode of "Taxi Driver" closes with the members of Deluxe Taxi having new jobs. But viewers started to get enthusiastic when it was shown that Kim Do Ki (Lee Je Hoon) and friends were still operating, realizing their customers' desire for revenge.

Plus, the Deluxe Taxi "underground" operation is now backed by law with prosecutor Kang Ha Na (Esom) joining the team. Previously, Lee Je Hoon also expressed his wish for season two, making viewers even more enthusiastic.

The MBN drama starring Jung Il Woo and Girls' Generation's Kwon Yuri, “Bossam: Steal the Fate” also reached its highest ratings Saturday to date, scoring a national average of 6.9 percent for its latest episode.

JTBC's "Undercover" has remained stable with an average national rating of 3.8 percent, while KBS's "Revolutionary Sisters" remains the most-watched program with average national ratings of 25.0 percent and 28.8 percent for the two halves. (wk / chus)
