IU Becomes a Guest Star on the 'You Quiz On The Block' Program Aired on TvN on Wednesday (31/3). Here, he reveals how he used to not be able to see his strengths.

It is undeniable that IU is currently one of the most successful celebrities and is most loved by the public. But who would have thought, the 1993-born singer and actress had apparently hated herself.
This was expressed by IU when he was a guest star on the program "You Quiz on the Block" which aired on tvN on Wednesday (31/3). Here, the owner of the real name Lee Jieun reveals how he used to not be able to see his strengths.
"When I was young, I hated myself," said IU. "I don't think I felt that I was lonely, and I thought that way until my early 20s. Twenty-five was a turning point."
He continued, "In the song 'Palette', there are lyrics that say, 'I think I know myself now.' The reason I wrote the lyrics was because I thought that there was nothing to be disappointed or surprised anymore. I will accept myself, the good and the bad. I want to be friends with myself. "
Yoo Jae Seok later revealed that he was a fan of IU's lyrics, especially "Through the Night". IU also revealed what the process of writing the lyrics for the song was like.
"I wrote 'Through the Night' thinking about how we can tell someone we love them in a sincere way at night when we can't sleep. I think of the phrase 'Deep sleep' as a pure way of confessing our feelings."
Meanwhile, IU recently made a comeback with "LILAC" and "Coin". "LILAC" is currently still faithfully occupying the top position on the Melon music chart. IU herself is busy with promotional activities by appearing on music shows and variety shows. (wk / dewi)
