The agency promised individual activities for former Gu9udan members after disbanding last December. While Kim Sejeong who is active as a soloist, Soyee and Mimi choose to leave Jellyfish Entertainment.
News about Gu9udan's disbandment still leaves a wound in the hearts of fans. Jellyfish Entertainment's first female group was disbanded on December 31, 2020.
Despite being declared disbanded and there will be no more joint activities, the agency has promised to support the individual careers of Gu9udan members. But unfortunately the agency's promise could not be fulfilled because Soyee and Mimi had ended their contract with Jellyfish.
The two former Gu9udan members announced their departure from the agency via their respective social media on Tuesday (30/3). Both Soyee and Mimi poured their hearts out through letters to fans.
"In March this year, I decided to end the contract with Jellyfish Entertainment in March and will start a new life," wrote Soyee in the post caption dated March 30, 2021.
"I wrote this letter via social media to inform fans first," he added, "Thank you to Danjjak (the name for Gu9udan fans) who was always by my side and watching over me,"
Next Soyee apologized and thanked fans. Thanks to Danjjak, all this time he was able to laugh happily. The singer whose real name is Jang Sojin also revealed that he wanted to expand his experience in various fields.
"Please continue to support me as before. In addition, please support all beloved Gu9udan members in their respective careers," concluded Soyee.
Meanwhile, Mimi also uploaded a farewell letter on her personal Instagram account. The 1993-born singer admitted that it was difficult to write a farewell letter and was unable to convey his meaning well.
"It's already late, but the reason I'm writing this letter is because my contract with Jellyfish ended after a long time," said Mimi. "I want to be Gu9udan (member) a little longer, but there are so many regrets left."
Then, Mimi added that her departure from the agency was a new beginning. He wants to keep in touch with fans more as long as he does new things.
"Thank you for providing precious memories that cannot be exchanged for anything. I hope we can share new moments in the future," concluded Mimi.
Before the release of Soyee and Mimi was announced, former Gu9udan Kim Sejeong just made a comeback on Tuesday (30/3). Unlike the other members, Kim Sejeong had a lot of solo activities even before Gu9udan officially disbanded. (wk / wahy)
