Unfortunate news came from a former member of the girl group Gu9udan. Kim Nayoung reportedly co-ended the contract with Jellyfish Entertainment.
As is known, Gu9udan was declared disbanded on December 31, 2020. At that time, Jellyfish Entertainment stated its commitment to continue supporting each member's solo career.
But having not had time to do solo activities, Nayoung stated that he left the agency in an Instagram post on Wednesday (31/3). Along with the statement, the 25-year-old singer wrote a farewell letter for Danjjak (the name for Gu9udan fans).
"Hello, I am Nayoung. First of all, thank you very much for loving and caring for the Gu9udan group," wrote Nayoung. "I'm writing this to convey directly to fans about future activities."
"After a long consultation, I decided that the contract with Jellyfish Entertainment was finished," he said. Nayoung's contract ended after four years of working at the agency.
Next, Nayoung thanked Danjjak for always supporting and loving him. Thanks to Danjjak, he was able to make his dreams come true. Nayoung added that he was trying to move forward for bigger dreams.
"I will repay you with a better Nayoung," said Nayoung. "So that I no longer hurt everyone who has helped to gain valuable experience."
"I ask for support and love from all of you," he concluded. Nayoung's letter is a caption that accompanies a photo of the starry sky.
As long as Gu9udan was active, Nayoung was one of the popular members. Before debut, Nayoung participated in the show "Produce 101" even though she failed the final round.
Due to his popularity and singing ability, Nayoung together with Kim Sejeong and Kang Mina had formed a trio unit called Semina. The trio debuted with the song "Jealous" in 2018. Despite mixed responses, Semina was quite successful at that time.
Before Nayoung ended the contract, Mimi and Soyee had declared their departure from the agency that also oversees VIXX. Right now the former Gu9udan members have walked their own paths. (wk / wahy)
