Song Hye Kyo Continues To Make Donation In Honor Of March 1st Independent Movement

Song Hye Kyo, along Sungshin Womens’ University’s professor Seo Kyung Duk, has donated 10,000 guidebooks to the Korean Cultural Center, Los Angeles.

As a part of the “Meet Our Country’s History Abroad” series, the act was performed to commemorate the Samil (March 1st) Independence Movement, also known as the Manse Demonstrations. This is Song Hye Kyo’s fifth time participating inside the series as she formerly donated similar guidebooks to the towns of Shanghai, Tokyo, Paris, and more.

In unique, those guidebooks have been made available in each Korean and English and introduces the records of the independence movement in Los Angeles. Other info in the guidebook include the Korea National Association Memorial Hall, the Ahn Chang Ho family house, the region in LA that is associated with Dosan (Ahn Chang Ho’s pen name) Ahn Chang Ho, Rosedale Memorial Park, and more.

Professor Seo Kyung Duk stated, “Due to the influence of Hallyu, foreigners also are interested in Korean records, and we are hoping this will help to tell foreign places Koreans and worldwide students of the records of the independence motion in LA. Because of COVID-19, the situation of the independence movement sites that remain remote places is not excellent. I think it's time for us to pay greater attention.”

Song Hye Kyo also supports Korean education by helping offer Korean language services to well-known museums round the sector. /soompi.com
