Shinsegae Duty Free previously announced on March 22, 2021 that Jackson was GOT7 as their model.

This comes as a welcome update following the expiration of the group GOT7's previous contract with Shinsegae Duty Free, signed in 2018. Due to his popularity and global fame, the idol was contracted as a solo model for the shop.

On March 25, 2020, the brand posted about Jackson on their official Instagram account. Eagerly announcing Jackson as the new face of duty-free department stores.

However, just days later, the brand removed all mention of Jackson from its social media. The above post has been removed from their Instagram. Many have speculated the cause of this problem due to Jackson's statement that he was cutting ties with Adidas.

Adidas has raised the issue of forced labor reported in Xinjiang, China, and announced a boycott of Xinjiang Cotton. Many other stars have made similar statements. Jackson's statement puts Shinsegae Duty Free in a difficult position because Adidas is one of the many brands they represent.

Regarding this matter, representatives from Shinsegae Duty Free reported on March 26, 2021 to Wikitree that they had just been informed of the matter and the company has not made a decision. (koreanarea.com) via: koreaboo
