The popularity of Ong Sung Woo and Cha Eunwoo ASTRO does not need to be doubted. Not only are they popular, they also generate the most income among all the celebrities under the Fantagio agency.
On Monday (29/3), Fantagio Entertainment released a security report. This report shows that the artists with the highest income at the agency are Ong Sung Woo and Cha Eunwoo.
According to the report, Ong Sung Woo made a total profit of 7.308 billion won (approximately $ 6.45 million) from 2018 to 2020, while Cha Eunwoo made a total of 6.458 billion won (approximately $ 5.7 million).
Ong Sung Woo, who made his debut in project group Wanna One, achieved record sales of 1.44 billion won (approximately $ 1.271 million) in 2018, 3.125 billion won (approximately $ 2.76 million) in 2019, and 3.043 billion won (approx. $ 2.685 million) in 2020. In 2020, he released his first solo album "LAYERS" and took on his first rom-com role in the JTBC drama "More Than Friends".
Cha Eun Woo achieved record sales of 1.378 billion won (approximately $ 1.216 million) in 2018, 2.504 billion won (approximately $ 2.21 million) in 2019, and 2.576 billion won (approximately $ 2.273 million) in 2020. He did his official debut with ASTRO in 2016.
Cha Eunwoo has also been active as an actor for several years, appearing in at least one project per year. She made waves with her role in tvN's drama "True Beauty" in 2020 and is currently a regular member on the SBS variety show "Master in the House".
Fantagio's biggest source of income is ASTRO, which achieved record sales of 4.116 billion won in 2018, 6.423 billion won in 2019, and 6.314 billion won in 2020. In 2020, ASTRO contributed 38 percent of the agency's sales revenue.
According to securities reports, ASTRO members' contracts will last until February 2023, while Ong Sung Woo is valid until August 2024. Fantagio's girl group Weki Meki's contract will last until August 2024 as well.
The report also stated that there are currently 50 artists and trainees who have signed exclusive contracts with the agency, with approximately 31 of these artists having debuted. There is no artist whose contract expires within one year of the release of the report. (wk / dewi)
