"Mr. Queen" has aired its last episode on Sunday (14/2). The 20th episode concluded with a happy ending between King Cheoljong (Kim Jung Hyun) and Queen Kim So Yong (Shin Hye Sun) who succeeded in taking over the royal power from the hands of the Kim clan.
The happy ending of "Mr. Queen" is also in line with his rating achievement. This sageuk drama won a high rating of 17.4 percent with the highest point of 19.3 percent. This is the highest rating during the broadcast of "Mr. Queen".
The last episode's rating also ranks first of all channels in the same slot (including public TV). Interestingly, "Mr. Queen" also managed to set a new record as the drama with the fifth highest rating in tvN history.
On top of "Mr. Queen", the dramas that topped the top four of tvN's history were "Crash Landing on You", "Goblin", "Reply 1988" and "Mr. Sunshine". The rating note for "Mr. Queen" of course immediately attracted awe-inspiring reactions from South Korean netizens.
"Wow. Amazing," wrote a netizen. "I'm surprised that the rating hasn't reached 20 percent," continued another. "Is this the last episode? Amazing," added another netizen. "To be honest, the drama is fun and the acting is very good. I just think it's a fantasy," concluded other netizens.
"Mr. Queen" is tvN's historical fusion drama that tells the story of a man from modern times whose soul is trapped in the body of a queen from the Joseon dynasty. Kim So Yong, the queen of Joseon with the soul of chef Jang Bong Hwan (Choi Jin Hyuk) trapped inside her.
The new soul Kim So Yong had to face the intrigue of the kingdom with her husband, King Cheoljong, who was a weak and ineffective king on the outside but stronger and sharper than it seemed.
