The 2021 Gaon Chart Music Awards will be held on Wednesday (13/1) tonight. Because the spread of COVID-19 has not subsided, this time the awards were held without any performances to minimize the potential risk of spreading the virus.

Meanwhile, the Gaon Chart Music Awards focuses more on achieving song and album sales than on musicians. The finalists who will get this award are based on the previous year's Gaon chart, based on song and album sales data. Different from many other awards in Korea, GCMA does not provide the highest award (Daesang) and an award system based on the month of release that other awards do not have.
