Bangtan Boys (BTS) again brings good news to their fans. The boy group made by Big Hit Entertainment is making history again with the main song on their comeback album "BE". The song, titled "Life Goes On", successfully entered the first position on the Hot 100 chart on Billboard.
Billboard has now announced that "Life Goes On" is taking the top spot on the Hot 100 chart for the week of December 5th. The Billboard Hot 100 chart itself is a chart that ranks the most popular songs in the United States in all genres based on streaming both official audio and official video, radio playback, and sales data.
This is the third first place on the chart. Previously their title track "Dynamite" and their remix collaboration "Savage Love (Laxed - Siren Beat)" with Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo, all of which topped the charts in the last three months.
BTS has now achieved the fastest accumulation of the first three positions on the Hot 100 in over 42 years. Previously the Bee Gees did it in two months and three weeks with songs from the "Saturday Night Fever" soundtrack which began in December 1977.
Apart from that, BTS is also the fastest artist since The Beatles to get their first three rankings. The Beatles are known to have scored three top Hot 100 songs in two months and three days in 1964.
"Life Goes On" has become the first song sung in Korean to reach No. 1 on the Hot 100 in the 62 year history of the charts. It is also the first song sung in a non-English language to debut at the top. BTS is also the first duo or group in history to have two songs debut at the top of the charts.
"Life Goes On" is known to amass 14.9 million US streams and 150,000 sales in the week ended November 26, according to Nielsen Music / MRC Data. It also attracted 410,000 radio views in the week ended November 29.
"Life Goes On" also topped the Digital Song Sales charts and took No. 14 on the Streaming Songs chart. Meanwhile, "Dynamite" rose in the Hot 100 this week to take No. 3, after scoring No. 14 last week. It was also previously announced that BTS's new album "BE" has taken the No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. The Billboard chart will be updated for the week on its website on December 1.
