'True Beauty' is Prepared as a Replacement for 'Tale Of The Nine Tailed' in the Wednesday - Thursday Night slot. This popular webtoon adaptation drama is scheduled to air from December 9.
"True Beauty" is one of the dramas that the audience is waiting for. Apart from the fact that the drama is adapted from a popular webtoon and stars a line of young stars, the audience is looking forward to it because of the director.
It is known together that "True Beauty" was done by director Kim Sang Hyub. The director previously worked on "Extraordinary You" which was very popular when it was broadcast and won several awards.
In a recent interview, Kim Sang Hyup revealed his reason for agreeing to direct "True Beauty". "I'm not specifically thinking about making a drama about school life," said Kim Sang Hyup.
"After working on my first school drama 'Extraordinary You', I thought, 'If I can direct one more time, I think I can do a better job.' While thinking about that, I received an offer to make a drama version of 'True Beauty'," he added. Kim Sang Hyup.
Kim Sang Hyup also divulged the main point of "True Beauty" which made the viewers worth watching. "The main point of 'True Beauty' is Lim Joo Kyung who is cute but has a lot of pain," said Kim Sang Hyup.
"Instead of telling the story realistically, I thought that if turning it into a comedy, strange absurdities would be fun to watch. I hope 'True Beauty' will be a drama that viewers can comfortably watch," added Kim Sang Hyup.
"True Beauty" tells the character of Lim Joo Kyung (Moon Ga Young), a high school student who is cheerful and optimistic. She uses makeup to overcome her insecurities about her acne-prone appearance and wears glasses.
Lim Joo Kyung is determined to hide her makeup-free face from the world, so she tends to overuse makeup. However, he was caught in a love triangle with Lee Su Ho (Cha Eunwoo) and Han Seo Joon (Hwang In Yeop).
