Yoona and Lee Hyori received criticism after showing off their fun shows at a karaoke venue and not wearing masks when the COVID-19 pandemic was not over.

Lee Hyori and Yoona Girls' Generation received criticism after the live broadcast. The broadcast shows them at the karaoke place and not wearing masks when the Corona virus or COVID-19 pandemic is not over.

On July 1 late at night, Lee Hyori held a live broadcast of Instagram, showing that he was in a karaoke bar without a max. "After drinking with Yoona, we went to karaoke. This is karaoke in Apgujeong," he said.

The guy at the karaoke place with them even asked Yoona if SM Entertainment would call him after they found out. But Yoona said that would be fine.

Many were happy to see the two together again after their time together at "Hyori's Homestay. But netizens expressed displeasure seeing that they were not wearing masks. After seeing this comment, Lee Hyori put on his mask, while Yoona said wearing a mask when going to the Karaoke venue.

This displeased some netizens, especially because Lee Hyori and Yoona participated in the "Thank You Challenge", thanking medical staff who had worked hard to limit the spread of the Corona virus and to treat those who had been infected in Korea.

"I can't believe celebrities and influential people like Lee Hyori and Yoona went to karaoke in this situation. I think they acted too hurriedly here. Both of them participated in 'Thank You Challenge', and now I doubt about how many celebrities who sincerely participated in the challenge, "commented netizens.

"I became worried after seeing their broadcasts, I'm worried that there might be people who think it's okay to go to karaoke now," added netizens. "They are not wise. It's up to them to go to karaoke but at least don't show it through live broadcasts like this," netizens wrote. "Don't they think of medical staff struggling in the heat? Aren't they doing a 'Thank You Challenge'? This doesn't make sense," concluded another.

At present in South Korea, there are about 45 new cases per day. The government continues to promote social distance measures as well as wearing masks on public transportation. While restaurants and bars are open, all bars and many restaurants require visitors to leave their contact information, in case a case is confirmed, their location can be tracked.
