From a row of Korean actors, Won Bin is known as one of the selective actors in his involvement on the big screen. Throughout his career, he only played in five films.
The film released in 2010, The Man from Nowhere has so far been the ultimate Won Bin in action in front of the camera.
The film shows Won Bin playing a former mafia who decided to isolate himself from the identity and label of his profession as a criminal.
But the kidnapping of a 12-year-old boy by unscrupulous sellers of human organs on the black market made him act against gangsters for the umpteenth time.
After the film was released, Won Bin's face was no longer seen filling the film industry. Won Bin is reportedly on hiatus.
Even so, he continued to consider what kind of story he would take.
"The public is guessing, but Won Bin is not refusing to be involved in a new film project. He is actively considering various scenarios to find creative projects," said a source reported by Koreaboo.
Won Bin is rumored to be starring in the remake of the British film titled Still Life in 2016. Although the script has been made, Won Bin is allegedly rejecting an offer to star in the film.
The production team is reportedly still trying to change the script to fit Won Bin's opinion, but Won Bin is also looking for options to get involved in other projects.
Won Bin's vacuum from acting for quite a long time was also commented on by his wife, actress Lee Na Young.
He said the husband had planned to return to the big screen but was waiting for the right time and film project.
"I think Won Bin also wants to tell a story through a film project like me. I think so far there hasn't been a story he wants to tell, so he's still weighing. It seems he wants to tell a story about humanism. Since there aren't many projects like that, it becomes very difficult, "said Lee Na Young.
