Fans of BLACKPINK (Black Pink) some time ago were spoiled by the girl group's latest work. Jennie confirmed the collaboration in Lady Gaga's new album titled "Chromatica". The collaboration song with BLACKPINK is titled "Sour Candy".
This collaboration song is like a breath of fresh air for BLACKPINK fans. Because the girl group made by YG Entertainment has long not released a new work. Evidently, just hours after Lady Gaga released the audio version of "Sour Candy", she and BLACKPINK had dominated most of the international charts like Billboard.
Despite getting a warm reception, the name of the collaboration song is known to have no MV. Lady Gaga's agency only released the official audio version because the song was a b-side. But yesterday, Tuesday (6/17) the agency finally released a futuristic lyric video for "Sour Candy".
The lyric video with a futuristic theme is similar to video games. Fans can see mysterious and colorful creatures flying across the screen while the music "Sour Candy" is playing in the background. Lyrics and Korean translations are also included in the video.
On the other hand, in early June, "Sour Candy" was known to have debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. On June 8, Billboard announced that "Sour Candy" took the No. 1 position. 33 this week on Hot 100, which is the most popular song ranking chart in the United States in all genres.
This is the first time BLACKPINK entered the top 40 position on the Hot 100 chart. BLACKPINK's previous peak on the Hot 100 was to "Kill This Love" at No. 41, "DDU-DU DDU-DU" in No. 55, and their collaboration with Two Lipa "Kiss and Make Up" in No. 93.
YG Entertainment recently also released the official BLACKPINK comeback date which will begin with the pre-release song on June 26th. The pre-release song title for BLACKPINK comeback "How You Like That" and is expected to perform their hip-hop shows stronger than ever.
After releasing "How You Like That", the members will continue their promotions throughout the summer with a second single in July, then release a full album in September. YG Entertainment has also released a plan for the members' solo activities.
