Korean Media Reveals List of K-Pop Groups Leading Four Different Generations

Who do you think is the most popular K-Pop group in each generation?


For those of you who are K-Pop fans, surely you are familiar with the terms first, second, third generation and so on.

Media Munhwa Ilbo has recently sorted out a list of the most popular K-Pop groups of its time. Starting from the first generation, the four most popular K-Pop groups are H.O.T, Sechskies, S.E.S and Fin.K.L.

Although most of these groups are no longer active except Sechskies, some members of the old group are still active in a career in the South Korean entertainment industry.

The most popular K-Pop groups in the second generation are none other than TVXQ, BIGBANG, SNSD, Wonder Girls and KARA.

Even though Wonder Girls and KARA have disbanded, TVXQ, BIGBANG and SNSD are still active. Some members also actively release solo music or have a career in acting and starred in various television programs.

Entering the third generation or the current generation, BTS, EXO, BLACKPINK and TWICE.

The four K-Pop groups are considered the third generation leader group, which gained huge popularity not only in South Korea, but throughout the world.

Although not yet in the fourth generation, some K-Pop groups that have the potential to lead this generation are Stray Kids, TXT, IZ * ONE and (G) I-DLE.

Stray Kids is a boy group made by JYP Entertainment agency, TXT originating from Big Hit Entertainment, IZ * ONE is a group formed through the 'Produce 48' survival program, while (G) I-DLE is a popular girl group from the Cube Entertainment agency.
