On Monday (11/5), a media outlet quoted an informant who said that Park Gyuri visited a gay club in Itaewon on the same day as an early patient who was confirmed and danced without wearing a mask.

A famous girl group member reportedly visited a gay club in the Itaewon area in the middle of a COVID-19 pandemic where people were encouraged to remain at home. It has now been revealed that he is Park Gyuri, Kara's former personnel.

In the gay club visited by Park Gyuri, there were reported positive cases of COVID-19 which shocked the South Korean public over the past few days. Before the outbreak of this case, there were only less than 10 positive cases of COVID-19 in South Korea every day for several days.

Today, Monday (11/5), a media outlet quoted an informant stating that Park Gyuri visited the club on the same day as the initial patient who was confirmed and danced without wearing a mask. After checking with Park Gyuri, his agency, Creative Kkot admitted that he visited the club. His agent released the following statement:

"Hello, this is Park Gyuri's agency. Once again, I want to apologize for making everyone worry.
Park Gyuri is pondering (his actions) deeply and apologizing once again. He wore a mask from the time of departure, and when an article about a confirmed case was released, he voluntarily visited the screening center before receiving a call from the district office and was immediately examined. He is currently in isolation alone after his tests have shown negative results. "

Park Gyuri also posted an official apology that reads as follows:

"Hello, this is Park Gyuri. Despite all the reasons, I want to ponder and apologize for not following the guidelines that everyone must follow during the period of social restrictions.

I wore a mask since I entered (the club) and continued wearing it until I left. On the day the article about the confirmed case came out, I immediately went to be examined, and my test results were negative. I am currently in self-isolation. Once again, I am sorry."

Immediately after Park Gyuri's statement and his agency was released, the agency corrected their initial statement and stated that Park Gyuri took off his mask for about 20 seconds in the club but continued to use it at any time apart from that brief moment.

Meanwhile, Park Gyuri debuted in 2007 as Kara's leder. After Kara was disbanded in 2016, she began a new career as an actress. In October last year, it was revealed that he was in a relationship with the eldest grandson of the Dongwon Construction Industry family.
