Sungjae was born on May 2, 1995 in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. Sungjae is widely known after his debut as a BTOB member in 2012. Sungjae was born into a wealthy family. His father is a CEO of an IT company. Sungjae is the youngest of two siblings. He has an older sister named Yook Sung Young.

After graduating from high school, Sungjae was accepted to Dongshin University majoring in Practical Music. In addition, he also briefly attended an English class in Cebu, Philippines.

In addition to receiving music awards with BTOB, Sungjae won several individual awards. Some of the honors that Sungjae won were for her talent in acting. In 2015 he starred in the drama "School 2015" and played Kong Tae Gwang.

Through the drama, Sungjae won the "KBS Drama Awards 2015" for the Best Couple Award category with actress Kim So Hyun. In the same year, Sungjae won two awards at the "MBC Entertainment Awards" for the Best Male Newcomer Award and Best Couple Award with Joy Red Velvet. 4. Solo Activities

Although in 2012 Sungjae was already hosting the show "The Show", his solo activities have been smoother since 2013. He starred in the drama "Monstar" as Arnold, then appeared on the tvN hit series "Reply 1994" as Sooksookie.

During his career, Sungjae was involved in several controversies. First is the matter of the controversy and Joy relating to the "We Got Married" program. As you know, both of them became virtual partners in this program in 2015. Sungjae and Joy became one of the "We Got Married" couples who had extraordinary chemistry and great success making viewers baper.

But after their photos were shot during the shoot, many Korean netizens believed that what they showed on the screen was just acting. But something slightly different happened to Sungjae because he was still a student. The title will not be canceled even if all credits passed must be removed.

"Because Sungjae is still a student, all the credits he has received so far will be canceled. His title will not be canceled," said a source from the Ministry of Education. "As for the six other singers, all their academic records will be deleted."

6. Future Projects

Sungjae will soon be acting comeback through the JTBC drama titled "Mystic Pop Up Bar". This is Sungjae's first drama in three years after "Goblin" which he starred in 2016-2017. In this drama he will compete acting with beautiful actress Hwang Jung Eum to actor Choi Won Young.

"Mystic Pop Up Bar" itself tells a variety of stories centered around the mysterious pojangmacha (outdoor drinking area) which only opens at night on the roof of the building. The customers of the drinking places consist of dead people and normal humans.

In this drama Sungjae will play Han Kang Bae. He is described as an employee at the Gab Eul Mart customer service center and works part time at Pojangmacha. Han Kang Bae has the strange ability to make people confess their secrets when he makes physical contact with them.
