Hwang Ha Na's confession raises rumors that the friend he was referring to was Yoochun. The 1986-born singer and actor held a press conference on Wednesday (10/4) to refute the allegations.
Thursday (11/4) yesterday, the Drug Investigation Unit of the South Gyeonggi Province Police Agency issued a statement regarding the investigation of Hwang Ha Na and Yoochun. Police stated, "The Hwang Ha Na case will be forwarded to the Procuratorate on April 12 on charges of violating the law on drug control."
According to police, Hwang Ha Na was charged with using Philopon (one type of methamphetamine) several times at his home in Seoul, including between May and June 2015, in September 2015, and between February and March 2019. He also was charged with using psychotropic drugs with elements clonazepam in April 2018. For this final charge he was arrested on 6 April 2019.
Hwang Ha Na had previously been indicted for drug use in 2015 but his case was recommended for non-charges for lack of evidence. It was recently reported that Hwang Ha Na was alleged to have bribed a friend to blame in the case.
In addition to revealing the status of the Hwang Ha Na case, a police source told Star News, "Park Yoochun asked us to examine it, so we are currently making a scheduling arrangement for the investigation." When asked whether Park Yoochun was being investigated as a suspect, the source refused to answer.
